CSX confirmed that the chemical fire caused by a Kentucky train derailment has been extinguished. The train derailed in Livingston, prompting the evacuation of residents. The fire was caused by molten sulfur, which resulted in the release of sulfur dioxide gas. Although air monitoring equipment was deployed, results have not yet been released.
